Over labor Day weekend, we had intended to go up to Palomar Mountain. However,
somehow I messed up on our reservation and long story short, they were full. Luckily, a friend knows the owners of this little RV Resort just off the 78 near Julian, and we were able to get a spot. It wasn't exactly what we had in mind for camping, having other people's tents right next to ours, but we were grateful to get away from home for a few nights and make some new friends and new memories. The highlight of our weekend was this pond.

The kids were all in their element, fishing, catching crayfish and scaring up frogs.
I got stuck in the mud a few times (of course in my flip flops, need you even ask?) and we all went back to our campsite muddy, smelly and oh so happy.
We've really started to see a passion for learning and knowledge lighting up in our boys. Everywhere they go, they share "fun facts" (usually gross) and information with anyone interested at all. At this phase in their learning, our #1 goal is to reignite the love of learning that started slipping away from them when they were in public school.
Beautiful photographs!
